Yun - Yang Lin
A cellist and pianist from Taiwan, received her Master’s degree and Artist Diploma from The Hartt School. Her orchestral performances include appearances with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra. As a member of the piano trio S.O.Y., she has performed in the United States, Korea, and Taiwan. She has also participated in the prestigious Pacific Music Festival, performing under celebrated conductors such as Charles Dutoit and Michael Tilson Thomas. Additionally, Yun-Yang has played in masterclasses with renowned musicians, including Yo-Yo Ma, David Finckel, and Benjamin Zander.
As a dedicated teacher, Yun-Yang is well-versed in both traditional and Suzuki methods, having received long-term Suzuki teacher training from Pamela Davenport. She has taught at The Hartt School Community Division and Neighborhood Music School in Connecticut, while maintaining a thriving private studio in Glastonbury.
In addition to her teaching, Yun-Yang is the founder of the Chamber Music Trek program, which gives students the opportunity to perform in various community venues, including senior centers, homeless shelters, museums, and churches. She has coached young chamber music groups that have earned accolades and performed at prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall.
